My Carbon Footprint 2009

Publié le par Marie Parker

I have calculated my Carbon Footprint.

My personal annual carbon dioxide emissions is approximately 15 Tonnes. I don't feel guilty about it! I have developed my lifestyle without knowing that CO2 emissions were such a problem, my house is old and energy inefficient and my family lives in the 4 corners of France. I will reduce my carbon footprint, starting at my current level, I will reduce it by 30% this year.

I will Fly less and make some home improvement.

Here you have it.

To put this in context, national average emissions are 10 tonnes per person per year. As we are 3 we can considere that we have a share of 5.83 tonne CO2 each. In 2004 the UK government pledged to cut emissions by 20% by 2012 to around 8 tonnes per capita. They have now pledged 80% reductions by 2050 to around 2 tonnes per capita, which is the sustainable CO2 quota per global capita.
